RELIGIOUS VOCATIONS

“Our only desire and our one choice should be this : I want and I choose what better leads to God’s deepening life in me.”

—St. Ignatius of Loyola

Vocation comes from the Latin word vocare, “to call.” It is a calling from God, who made us, loves us, and has a plan for our lives. Discernment, then, is different from simply choosing a career or lifestyle. It begins in faith—acknowledging God as the source of our vocation, inviting Him into the process through prayer, and learning to listen for His will.

No one discerns a vocation alone. Friends, pastors, family members, and fellow parishioners all play an important role, offering support and insight. Often, they can recognize gifts and callings in us that we may not yet see ourselves.

If you feel God may be calling you to areligious vocation, we invite you to reach out to our parish contacts for guidance, support, and to learn more about religious life.
