ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Through this sacrament, the Church commends the sick to the suffering and glorified Lord for their salvation.
A Sacrament of Healing and Hope
The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing through which Christ offers strength, peace, and courage to those who are seriously ill, facing surgery, or weakened by age. Through the prayer of the priest and the anointing with blessed oil, the Church entrusts the sick person to the Lord’s care, asking for the grace of healing of body, mind, and soul according to God’s will. This sacrament unites the suffering of the faithful more closely to the saving work of Christ, brings forgiveness of sins if the afflicted is unable to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, and offers comfort and hope to both the sick and their loved ones.
How to Arrange for Annointing of the Sick
Because Christ the King is a personal parish, we are able to annoint those who are part of our parish family. Please contact Fr. Ed Fride directly to arrange for annointing.
