BECOMING CATHOLIC
FROM SEEKING TO BELONGING
The Church joyfully welcomes all who wish to join themselves to Christ through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. This includes:
- Those who have never been baptized and desire to become Catholic
- Christians from other traditions who are already baptized and wish to complete their sacraments of initiation
- Catholics who are returning to the practice of their faith after some time away
The process by which this happens is called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). Through OCIA, participants are gradually introduced to the teachings, traditions, and sacraments of the Catholic Church, and guided into a living relationship with Christ and the community of the Church.
Program Structure at Christ the King
At Christ the King, OCIA is offered in small groups, led by experienced catechists who provide support, answer questions, and help participants grow in faith.
Highlights include:
- Small group formation with catechists and mentors
- Guided exploration of Catholic teachings, sacraments, and spiritual practices
- Community connection through prayer, discussion, and fellowship
