EUCHARISTIC OUTREACH

Bringing Jesus to Care and Correctional Facilities

Volunteers from parishes across Washtenaw County come together in a shared mission of bringing Christ to those who are sick, homebound, or living in care and correctional facilities throughout Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Through this ministry, Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is brought to Catholics who are unable to attend Mass, along with the comfort of prayer, Scripture, and compassionate presence. In this way, our brothers and sisters remain deeply connected to the life of the Church.

Our volunteers lead or assist with Communion services and also visit individuals in their rooms, offering not only the Eucharist but the peace and companionship of Christ. Catholic Charities Washtenaw County supports the Ann Arbor Deanery in this apostolate by providing coordination and training.

If you or a loved one would like to receive Holy Communion, we would be honored to serve you. And if you feel a gentle call to bring Christ to others in this way, we warmly invite you to consider joining this ministry.

Interested in volunteering?

Serving on the Eucharistic Outreach team is simple, beautiful, and powerful. This ministry is open to Catholics who are members in good standing at a parish and have received the Sacraments of Initiation.

We provide all necessary training and help volunteers find the right fit for their gifts, interests, and availability. Join us in bringing Christ to those who cannot come to Mass—your time, prayer, and presence can make a profound difference.
