Family Pentecost Novena

Day 7 – Thursday, May 21

Proclamation: God the Father and Jesus the Son live in a constant exchange of love. This love is the person of the Holy Spirit. Jesus keeps his promise to love me with the Father’s love by sending the Holy Spirit to live in me.

Scripture: John 17:22, 24-26 excerpt from the Gospel Reading of today’s Mass

Jesus said, “I have given them the glory you gave me . . . . Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father . . . I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them.”

Praise and Prayer: “You will show me the path to life, fullness of joys in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.”
from responsorial psalm, Psalm 16

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love that is never ending. Fill my heart and soul with great joy as I worship you.

Worship the Lord:

THIS IS AMAZING GRACE  Bethel Music Kids

Called to Greatness: Read the above Scripture one more time. Did you hear what Jesus said? He said that he has given us glory from the Father! What an amazing gift! (Glory has to do with who God is and his greatness.) You say, “but I am just a kid.” No problem! Kids don’t get a “mini” Holy Spirit – they get the same BIG Holy Spirit that grown-ups have. Thank God for this great gift today and ask him to show you how to walk in the glory of the Holy Spirit.

Novena Prayer: Come, Holy Spirit!

Symbols of the Holy Spirit: Wind

On Pentecost the Holy Spirit came with the noise of a strong, driving wind. But he also comes to us as a gentle voice or whisper
(see 1 Kings 19:11-13).
