Family Pentecost Novena

Day 4 – Monday, May 18

Proclamation: Jesus is more powerful than any problem I have. He sends the Holy Spirit to me to give me courage.

Scripture: John 16:33b excerpt from the Gospel Reading of today’s Mass

Jesus said, “In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”

Praise and Prayer: “The father of orphans and the defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling. God gives a home to the forsaken; he leads forth prisoners to prosperity.” Psalm 68

Heavenly Father, I give you thanks. You care for my every need and come to my side in every trouble.

Worship the Lord:

YOU MAKE ME BRAVE Bethel Music Kids

Called to Greatness: Read the above Scripture one more time. Did you hear what Jesus said? He has conquered the world. Do you know what conquer means? It means to have the victory. So if Jesus wins, that means you win too, because you belong to him. So give him your problems today and watch him win a victory for you!

Novena Prayer: Come, Holy Spirit!

Symbols of the Holy Spirit: The Hand of God

Hands, especially shown with the palms facing down, are a sign that the Holy Spirit is being called upon to come down in a sacramental form. We see this gesture in the epiclesis at Mass. We also see the hand of the bishop being laid on the head of the person being confirmed and the priest being ordained.
