Family Pentecost Novena

Day 2 – Saturday. May 16

Proclamation: I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He was sent by the Father so that I could be freed from the power of sin and be born into his family through baptism. The Holy Spirit makes this possible.

Scripture: John 16:25-27 excerpt from the Gospel Reading of today’s Mass

Jesus said, “The hour is coming when . . . I will tell you clearly about the Father. . . . For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have come to believe that I came from God.”

Praise and Prayer: “All you peoples, clap your hands; shout to God with cries of gladness. For the Lord, the Most High, the awesome, is the great king over all the earth.” from responsorial psalm, Psalm 47

Heavenly Father, you are all powerful, in charge of the whole earth, and still you know me personally. I rejoice in your love for me!

Called to Greatness: Read the above Scripture one more time. Did you hear what Jesus said? He said that you are loved by the Father! Wow! How amazing is that? And if you are baptized, that means that you are royalty. You are a son or daughter of the King of the Universe. Be glad about that today!
