Our relationship and special collections...

Christ the King has had a sister parish relationship with St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the Catholic Community of Flint for many years. Through this relationship, we provide financial assistance to students at SJV School and partner with the Sisters of the Servants of God’s Love and others to reach families, youth, and children on the east side of Flint, in the area around St. Mary Catholic Church.

ANNUAL SPECIAL COLLECTIONS


Throughout the year, two special collections help us support our sister parish and the wider Catholic community in Flint:


  • Support for St. John Vianney School: Help provide scholarships for neighborhood children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Catholic school.



  • Support for the Sisters of the Servants of God’s Love: Help support the sisters as they reach out to families, youth, and children on the east side of Flint.

UPDATED COLLECTIONS SCHEDULE


We’re adjusting the timing of our annual collections to better fit the parish calendar.


October 10–11, 2026 — St. John Vianney School
We’ll have a special “catch-up” collection to help support SJV School’s operating needs for this school year. Our goal is to raise $25,000–$40,000 or more. Representatives from SJV will join us that weekend to share more about the school and the impact of our support. After Mass, stop by the JPII Room to watch a short video, meet them, and ask questions.


Looking Ahead


• February 6–7, 2027: Our annual SJV School collection will support scholarships for the following school year. Fr. Matthew Bonk, pastor of SJV, will preach at the Sunday Masses on February 7.


• July 2027: Our collection supporting the Sisters of the Servants of God’s Love outreach to families and children of the east side of

Flint will move to July, coinciding with their Summer Mission and outreach to families and children in Flint.


For many years, the generosity of CTK parishioners has made a real difference in the lives of hundreds of people in Flint. We invite you to continue supporting our sister parish through prayer, service, and these special collections.
