Anyone who attends Sunday Mass at Christ the King quickly notices that we’ve been blessed with a lot of children! Families find many ways to support their lives in Christ at our parish. Here are just a few of them:
Our Religious Education program is headed by Director of Religious Education Barbara Morgan, retired professor and founder of the Catechetics program at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Religious Education at Christ the King is for everyone from the “cradle to the grave.” For more information about Religious Education at Christ the King, please go to our Religious Education page.
Private Catholic Schools
While Christ the King does not have its own school, many of our children attend one of the private Catholic schools in the area, including Huron Valley Catholic School, Spiritus Sanctus Academy, and our regional Diocesan high school, Father Gabriel Richard High School. For more information about these and other area Catholic schools, please contact the schools directly.
Home Educators Committee
“Parents and those who take their place are bound by the obligation and possess the right of educating their offspring.” (Canon 793 §1). A number of our families have chosen to fulfill this obligation by teaching their children at home. In addition to the support provided by our Religious Education program, many of our home schooling families participate in area home school co-operatives. Christ the King also serves as host to a very active sports program for home school families, the CTK Jaguars. To learn more about the CTK Jaguars, go to their Web page.
Our Parish Life Committee sponsors a number of family-friendly activities for families in the parish and beyond. Among them are English Country Dances, held 5-6 times a year; the All Saints Party, held on or near October 31; and the Spring Daddy-Daughter Dance. For more information, please contact Wendy Cousino, Parish Life Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
